A motor vehicle distributor license is required to obtain distributor plates. See Permits & Licenses Issued for physical requirements and instructions for applying.
Distributor license plates may be used on any motor vehicle, other than commercial cars, owned by the distributor. The plates may be displayed on any motor vehicle owned by or lawfully in the possession of the distributor or the agent or employee of the distributor, and shall be displayed on no other motor vehicle.
Distributor plates may NOT be used for delivery, hauling, transporting, or any commercial purpose.
Application: BMV 4376 must be completed, notarized, and submitted with the applicable fee.
